Julien-Robert is a composer and multidisciplinary artist passionate about exploring the synergy between sound and image. His performances and audiovisual installations are the result of a rich journey in musical composition and artistic innovation.
After studying instrumental and electroacoustic composition, he expanded his creative universe to include video and interactive installations. Each of his works is carefully staged to offer an immersive and authentic experience to the audience.
He is currently working with the group Video Phase on the development of a new artistic form that combines music, video, and technology into a single entity.
Julien-Robert receives commissions for concert works from several renowned ensembles (SMCQ, ECM+, [iks], Magnitude6, Sixtrum, ClairObscur), with pieces that have been performed at numerous festivals and concert series across North America, Europe, and Asia. His creations have garnered multiple awards, including the Opus Prize for Concert of the Year in Contemporary and Electroacoustic Music, 1st prize in the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble Competition, the Serge Garant Award from the SOCAN Foundation, and 3rd prize at the Martirano Award. His projects are regularly funded by the Conseil des arts de Montréal, the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec, and the Canada Council for the Arts.
Julien-Robert regularly works as a composer, sound designer, and programmer of interactive audiovisual systems for various types of projects. He has collaborated with companies such as Mirari, Lucion Media, Patrice Lacroix and Eden Creative.
